The multi-part
construction is necessary, because carbon and graphite
material cannot deform elastically like other sealing
material for radial seals. In addition, the multi-part
construction simplifies assembly. It can produce multi-part
carbon sealing rings with the necessary accuracy up to a
dimeter of about 200 mm. Depending on the size of the
rings, they are divided into 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 or more
segments. In order to secure an optimal assembly and thus a
maxi-mum sealing effect the indivi-dual ring segments are
num-bered. |
